Seemingly Useless PvP Spells
Today I got an ability called well of suffering that creates one of the infamous "necro wells" off a corpse that drains enemy HP.
All sounds well and good right? Well, I added up the total damage after the time duration and discovered that putrid explosion (they are both death magic) does almost 15 more points of damage with an instant cast and 5 less energy points. Why the heck would I want to put down a DPS AOE (one any fool can walk out of) that does less damage than a burst attack and cost more mana?
I find the same problem in Siphon Life. All added up, it equals a vampire gaze except that gaze is burst.
Is there an advantage to using spells like these?

Here's a hint. one arrow = 2hp/s
Do your recalcs with that, and you'll get different results, guaranteed.

Wait, so when a hex move says Health Degeneration of 3 it really means
-6HP per second?
That's good to know! Thanks!
